About Eastbourne Town Hall

Step 4 – from 19 July 2021:

  • Safety, and maintaining the level of public services we can offer are our priorities.
  • Registrars will wear a face covering.
  • We’re requiring all visitors to East Sussex County Council buildings, including our Register Offices, to continue to wear a face covering in public areas and ceremony rooms (unless exempt).
  • We urge all people attending wedding ceremonies at which we officiate, in any venue, to continue to wear a face covering (unless exempt).

About Eastbourne Town Hall

Designed by Birmingham architect W.Tadman-Faulkes, this historic building built in the 1800's in traditional Victorian style is home to Eastbourne Register Office. 

The main feature of the building is the 130-foot high clock tower. Inside a grand staircase awaits, with a stunning stained-glass window on the half landing providing the perfect backdrop for your photos. 

The Ceremony Rooms

The Mayors Parlour

A circular room located on the first floor with a beautiful domed ceiling and original wood block flooring. Well suited to a smaller ceremony, this room can accommodate up to 30 people and has two sofas seating 6 to 8 people with the rest of the guests standing.

The Southbourne Suite

Located on the ground floor, behind large wooden doors is the stunning Southbourne Suite. Decorated with ornate peacock print wallpaper, teal and duck egg furnishings and a magnificent chandelier. This room has a capacity for 40 people.

The Council Chamber

A room steeped in history with wood panelling and rich red furnishings, also situated on the first floor. This room can accommodate and has seating for 60 people.

The Council Chamber is available at weekends only.

The Court Room

Located on the ground floor The Court Room is the largest ceremony room at Eastbourne Town Hall with a capacity to accommodate 80 people. Decorated in heritage colours, with a large stained-glass window and two chandeliers.

Room capacities include you, your partner and all babies and children. 

Accessibility at Eastbourne Town Hall

Access to the ground floor of the Town Hall is via a ramp at the front of the building. Disabled toilets and baby changing facilities are on the ground floor.

Disabled access to the first floor is via a small lift. Most wheelchairs will not fit in this lift, and instead users will be required to leave their own wheelchair downstairs and use our small, non-motorised chair in the lift and during the ceremony if needed.

Should you or your guests require use of the lift and/or wheelchair please confirm this when completing your Ceremony Options Form.

Parking at Eastbourne Town Hall

There is limited on street parking around the Town Hall. The nearest car park is at Eastbourne Railway Station, which is a level 5-minute walk away. The car park at the rear of the town hall is only available to wedding parties at the weekend on a first come first serve basis, for the duration of the ceremony only.
