We invite you to include your own personal additions. Look below at some of the ways in which you can personalise your ceremony.
Details of any additions should be included on your Ceremony Options Form.
Where possible options forms should be submitted to the Ceremonies Hub for approval one month before your ceremony date.
Please be aware that forms received within 7 days of the ceremony date may not be processed in time. Your Registrars will do their best to accommodate your preferences, however the inclusion of some or all of your additions may not be possible.
Personal additions cannot contain any religious content and must be approved by the Ceremonies Hub prior to your ceremony.
Music is usually played at your arrival, during the signing of the schedule and at the end of the ceremony.
Recorded music must be supplied by you, and ask that you choose one of your guests to operate the music system during the ceremony (the registrar will indicate when to play music). CD, Bluetooth, and AUX are available at Hookstead (couples will need to provide their own AUX lead).
If you are having live music, then please note musicians will count towards the number of people able to attend as per the room capacity.
You can if you choose, include a reading or poem in your ceremony. This can be a nice way of including a specially chosen friend or family member. Your Celebrant Registrar will discuss the best place to include the reading during your pre-ceremony interview.
Writing your own vows allows you the opportunity to make additional promises to one another. Should you wish to include these in your ceremony they will usually be said following the legal marriage vows, or the reading of the civil partnership declaration.
Unlike a marriage there are no spoken vows that must be said during a civil partnership ceremony. Instead, each of you must read a declaration which you can read aloud if you choose.
We will be happy to discuss any special arrangements you may have and will do everything we can to accommodate your wishes.
