Renewal of Vows

Renewing your vows is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate your continuing love and commitment.

You do not need a special reason to celebrate your love for one another, and couples choose to renew their vows for many different reasons, some including;

  • To celebrate a special anniversary
  • To celebrate a significant birthday
  • To mark the end of a difficult or challenging time
  • Or maybe you just want to do it all over again!

Whatever your reasons, we are here to help you create your perfect ceremony.

Although a Renewal of Vows ceremony has no legal status, it is, however no less meaningful. It is a public declaration of your love, loyalty and commitment to one another and our experienced Celebrants will ensure you have a ceremony that will give you memories to last a lifetime.

Where can we hold the ceremony?

£250 any time, any place, anywhere!

The ceremony can take place at any location in East Sussex, including the beautiful ceremony rooms at our Register Offices in Hastings, Eastbourne, Lewes and Crowborough, any Licensed Venue in East Sussex, at home, on the beach, in the woods, or any other suitable location.

The only exception is that we are unable to hold ceremonies on religious premises.

(Please note to hold your ceremony at any venue other than a Register Office, hire will need to be arranged with the venue directly. There may be a charge to hire your chosen venue)

What happens during the ceremony?

This is completely up to you.

The ceremony can include anything and everything, there really are no limits. It can be as formal or informal as you want. We want the ceremony to reflect you and your relationship, and as each couple is different, so is each ceremony. We want you, with the help of our team, to create a bespoke and personal ceremony that you, your friends and family will remember and treasure.

The following are examples of things you may wish to include:

  • Readings, poems, hymns, prayers
  • Religious or other rituals (e.g. hand fasting)
  • The exchange of rings and or gifts
  • Personal Vows
  • Acknowledgement of children/grandchildren
  • Messages from guests
  • Music/songs

At the end of the ceremony you will be presented with a commemorative certificate for you to keep as a memento of the day.
