Registrations take place in a small office at Crowborough Register Office on the second Tuesday of each month. These appointments can accommodate the couple and two witnesses only. Additional guests, including children, will not be permitted. It is not possible to personalise these formations with music, readings or personal vows.
These are booked on a first come first serve basis into the next available date and time. Later slots cannot be booked where there is an earlier slot available. The fee is £91. This includes the attendance of the Registrars (statutory fee of £56), two legal certificates and one commemorative certificate.
You will need to arrange your own witnesses, East Sussex Registration is unable to provide witnesses for you.
If you'd like to celebrate your marriage at your choice of venue, with more than just two witnesses and include personal additions then please see our marriage ceremony pages for more information.
Certain legal preliminaries must be completed before you are able to marry, for further information see Giving Notice.
To book a statutory marriage registration call the Ceremonies Hub on 0345 60 80 198.
