Located on the first floor, The Mayor's Parlour is ideal for an intimate celebration, accommodating up to 15 with seating for up to eight. Luxuriously decorated in blue and gold, with a beautiful fireplace and stunning chandelier.
Named after the poet and painter Dante Gabriel Rossetti, who in 1860 wed Elizabeth Siddal here in Hastings. Inspired by the Victorian Arts and Crafts movement, the decor includes William Morris-style wallpaper and two bottle green Chesterfield sofas, providing seating for up to 8. A print of the Rossetti painting 'La Ghirlandata' hangs above the fireplace, while a copy of Rossetti & Siddal's original marriage certificate features on the adjacent wall.
Perfect for the slightly larger celebration. This magnificent oak-panelled room, with large vaulted ceiling, is set behind ornate oak-panelled doors. A spacious room furnished with rich red carpet and chairs, with a central aisle, stained glass windows and an impressive Bath stone fireplace.
Room capacities include you, your partner, and guests (including witnesses and children).
Once inside this historic building you will find a wealth of grandeur, including a Gothic style marble staircase and original stained glass windows. Halfway up the marble staircase, is a floor to ceiling stained glass window, providing the perfect backdrop for photos.
The Rossetti Room is the only ceremony room situated on the ground floor. Both The Mayor's Parlour and The Council Chamber are located on the first floor, which can be reached via the grand staircase. If you or any of your guests have accessibility needs it is best to discuss these prior to booking your ceremony to ensure that your chosen ceremony room will be suitable.
There is no parking at Hastings Town Hall. Paid parking can be found nearby at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre, Hastings Train Station, Wellington Square or on surrounding streets .
Hastings train station is a 5-minute walk from Hastings Town Hall.
It is important that your ceremony begins on time, please ensure that you and your guests arrive in plenty of time.
