This magnificent 16th Century, Grade II* listed manor house, situated within the picturesque Southover Grange gardens is home to Lewes Register Office. This beautiful building full of history, character, and charm provides the perfect setting for your celebration.
Southover Grange provides has four ceremony rooms; The Winterbourne Suite, The Evelyn Room, The Newton Room, and The Ainsworth Room.

Room capacities include everyone except the registrars; the couple, all guests, children of all ages, photographers, videographers, musicians etc all count towards the total capacity. Room capacities are set according to fire regulations and cannot be exceeded.

Winterbourne Suite
Room Capacity: 15 (couple plus 13)

Located on the first floor, the Winterbourne Suite is perfect for those smaller more intimate ceremonies.
Decorated in blue and silver with a small window overlooking the gardens.
The Winterbourne Suite is located on the first floor. There is no lift at Southover Grange meaning this room is not accessible to anyone who may have mobility issues or requires assistance with using the stairs. If you or any of your guests have accessibility needs, please consider this when choosing your ceremony room.
Evelyn Room
Room Capacity: 20 (couple plus 18)
Seated Capacity: 12 to 15
A light and airy room with views over the gardens. Neutrally decorated to suit all tastes, with two luxury sofas, and a window seat provide seating for 12 to 15 guests. The Evelyn Room is located on the ground floor of Southover Grange.
Ainsworth Room
Room Capacity: 60 (couple plus 58)
Seated Capacity: 60
Perfect for larger celebrations this room features a central aisle, two chandeliers and large windows overlooking the beautiful Southover gardens.
The Ainsworth Room is located on the ground floor.
Newton Room
Room Capacity: 60 (couple plus 58)
Seated Capacity: 60
A bright and warm room with a central aisle and a carved wooden fireplace, finished with red and gold cushioned seats.
The Newton Room is located on the ground floor.

Paid parking is available at Lewes train station, in the school car park opposite Southover Grange, and on the streets surrounding Southover Grange. Lewes train station is a 10-minute walk from Southover Grange.
Please be aware there are no changing facilities at the Register Office, you and your guests should arrive dressed and ready for the ceremony to begin on time.
Southover Grange Gardens
Southover Grange public gardens are managed by Lewes District Council (LDC).
Dogs are not permitted within the gardens.
The consumption of alcohol is prohibited.
