The vicar will arrange for the ecclesiastical preliminaries, which involves the reading of the banns. There is usually no involvement of the Register Office when a marriage is to take place in an Anglican church. However if you and/or your partner are a non EEA-National, then you will need to Give Notice at a Designated Register Office.See page 12 for further details.Marrying in any other churchor religious building The church or religious building will usually have an Authorised Person who will register your marriage. If an Authorised Person is not available then you will need tobook a Registrar to attend your ceremony. You should arrange this with the Register Office in the district where the church or building is situated. There will be a fee for a Registrar to attend and register your marriage.
